Mobility plays a huge role in many CrossFit movements including lifting, squatting and gymnastics. Yoga can greatly improve an athletes ability to reach depth, kip better and lift correctly.
Keeping muscles soft and supple will help to improve recovery rates and reduce injury rates. An athletes flexibility can determine if they can bail out of a lift without hurting themselves or not – bend don’t break!
Being flexible and mobile is no use on its own, you need good joint stability and strength. Yoga can help achieve this without putting your muscles and joints under further strain and fatigue.
